In March(exact date to be announced) through Thursday April 13, participating Medford downtown restaurants will have a specially created pear themed menu items. Diners are encouraged to dine around downtown and vote for the best dishes to help recognize the excellent culinary talent in the valley. Categories of competition include:
- Casual Dining
- Fine Dining
- Dessert/Beverage
The Dare to Pear Challenge concludes with American Culinary Federation Judges tasting the featured dishes at each of the participating restaurants. The judges use the ACF scoring to evaluate for creativity, presentation, preparation, and flavor. The judges will award the winning chef/restaurant at the opening ceremony for the Pear Blossom Festival. The fierce, but friendly competition is a way to recognize the chefs and kitchen staff that transform our amazing local fare into something wondrous.
